Alexander O’Neal.
Genre: R&B/Soul.
- Saga of a Married Man (2002): Has mostly songs of/about tiny talk, broken hearts and courting apart from What is a Man? and Happy Home (which 2Pac sampled from).
- All True Man (1991): More tiny talk, heartbreak, wooing and preaching. His voice goes all soothing in the love songs while rest sounds more New Kids + New Jack. Wow… the way he sings Shame On Me is such a buzz I forget to listen to the lyrics.
- Hearsay (1987): Hearsay has the same format. One of his Christmas numbers gets pretty Broadway. Shows his vocal versatility. Heard the Shame On Me lyrics… dude aint singing the song, it’s like he is the song… too nice.
- B-Sides/Remixes/Singles: Other songs include tunes from Hearsay, Love Makes No Sense, etc. Took me back in the day when I loved these lyrics… still do in a way coz the lyrical content is depressing but the upbeat rhythms and arrangement keeps you entertained or its preachy e.g. Criticize.”
