Tap or Bottle water from Kalpa

Tap vs. Bottled–What Should You Drink?

http://food.yahoo.com/blog/beautyeats/22317/tap-vs-bottled-what-should-you-drink

Glug, glug, glug–that’s the sound a ginormous number of us make as we sip bottled water in our cars, at the gym, behind our desks.
The sound you DON’T hear is the thwack of 60 million bottles a day being tossed into U.S. landfills, where they can take up to 1,000 years to biodegrade.
If that’s not enough to turn your conscience a brighter shade of green, add this: Producing those bottles burns through 1.5 million barrels of crude oil annually–enough fuel to keep 100,000 cars running for a year. Recycling helps but reusing is even better. Invest in a couple of portable, dishwasher-safe, stainless steel bottles like Klean Kanteens that won’t leach nasty chemicals into your water. (Don’t get into the habit of refilling the water bottle you just emptied; the polyethylene terephthalate it’s made of breaks down with multiple usings.)

4 REASONS TO TURN ON THE TAP
1. Tap water is tested daily
Under the Safe Drinking Water Act, water suppliers are required to provide an annual report on the quality of your local water and to test tap water daily. By comparison, the FDA examines bottled water only weekly, and consumers can’t get the agency’s results. You can easily get the lowdown on your state’s drinking water quality at http://www.epa.gov/safewater/dwinfo/index.html
2. Tap water is a bargain
Bottled water costs about 500 times more than tap. If you’re into really fancy labels, up to 1,000 times more.
3. Tap water is a tooth saver
It has more fluoride than bottled water, which helps prevent tooth decay. (Yes, you never outgrow your need for fluoride.)
4. Tap water is often tasty
Some places (New York City for one) have delicious water, but if you don’t love the flavor of yours, the solution is simple: Run your tap water through a Brita or Pur filter to remove most tastes and odors. The average home filter goes for $8.99 and produces the equivalent of 300 large (16.9 ounce) bottles of water. That’s about $0.03 cents a bottle, versus the $1.25 or so you’d pay in a market.
One last thing: Don’t just think about making this switch; actually do it. Today. It does the world and you good. Plus, allowing nagging, unfinished tasks (known as NUTs) to go undone can make your RealAge 8 years older!

!ANNOUNCEMENTS AND APPOLOGIES!
Paras Presents – www.parasuniversal.com :
What began in 1997 as regular mails updating and entertaining Paras International’s friends, gradually changed to Paras Worldwide. Reviewing tons of movies, music albums, plays, games and much more. A decade later and you have Paras Universal… it’s gone online baby!
Special big ups to Rashid for this suggestion… lawd knows how many years back you’d mentioned this. Big up to my bro HT and also to Mehul and Nayan for the same suggestions. Big up to Mic for the help and Bob for his expertise.
As usual best for last… it’s all dedicated to my mother Aruna/Urmila/Hoi/Aruni/MATHE! She is The Force behind my Star wars… I mean Stardom! She suggested my first nom de plume Paras International. So I thought her birthday (20/10/2007) a perfect time to officially launch www.parasuniversal.com
Jai Gurudev
Note: For now I’ll still be mail the updates and knowledge but once I figure things out you should be getting an email in your inbox to let you know about weekly mails and blogs. I don’t want you to be getting an email every time I put an entry coz I still got 4 years worth of movies and albums to get online… anyway… um… enjoy.

New Juice:
Major apology to Mathe… I promised not to bring back Juice about my love life in the mails and as entertaining as it was… it just didn’t feel like me and more importantly its not fair on whoever. Since Universal is gonna be public I am also gonna have to change to nicknames or something. Don’t worry I do intent to bring the juice back… just not as personal… even though I know personal stuff gets more attention… lol but for that kinda stuff you can watch soaps anyway.

!THOUGHTS AND QUOTES!
Time:
While sorting out all the material from 2003 to now I’d catch some dairy entries too and it’s shocking how many people come into ones life touch it and carry on. Some stay longer some for a moment but they all bring something to the table. You do the same in others. And when you remember it, like Guruji plants that seed of thought… is it really real or are you really dreaming? The freakiest bit is how much one grows… its nuts it tell you. Who remembers back when International used to bitch about being in the same rut and make ups to break ups… and what about Worldwide’s tantrums, laziness and advertising drama lol. Ah the good old days. Worldwide has truly grown since then if I do say so myself… more like exploded into the net now so lets see what lies ahead in Universal’s journey.

On The Road:
The other day Krishma’s mom mentioned something that hit me. I’ve always had a driver/chauffer. As much as I loved cruising and singing alone most of the time the family has had a driver. Guess that’s why I don’t mind the bus. The way I see it… I don’t have to pay attention to road/signs… I get to see everything else/read/music/sleep. Which brings me to road trips… maybe not now.

!SPORTS AND GAMES!
Prince of Persia – Warrior Within (PS2):
Also known as Prince of Persia 2… compared to the Sands of Time its so much more advanced. After Sag and I finished we saw all the artworks and vids that we unlocked and… bow down to the creators. In this one Price has attitude, he’s darker and always up for a fight. Fight? This guy has so many movies its like Tekken with swords. The animations/artwork/people/movements are all darker and fiercer. Of course like the old one he can go back a few seconds in time and slow down time and all. The first scene in the game already has sista showing off bootie cleavage. When you play Warrior Within you really get into it. Like we have our daily and weekly highlights that we look forward to… this one is surely one. It does get much at some point but luckily that’s close to the end. Oh and there’s two endings… a good one and bad. Cant wait to get The Two Thrones/Rival Swords… looks like Wii players gonna get a good workout with that one.

!OVER AND OUT!
Highlights:
Thursday – Miss satsang again… since Anup passed there’s just no psyche. Note: I’m on the bus waiting to get off at the next stop and coz of this shaved head I can know where a light is shining from and all kindsa things. In this case I felt someone looking at me so I turn and who do I see… Chets looking at me in such a crafty way like she wanted to rob me or something lol. Good to finally see the sista. Get home, change for Navratri, get to Sej’s. I’ll say this again… the walk to her house is one of the bombest. Trees, buildings, stars, etc. Especially this one hedge that looks like it’s got that Monster Inc. blue guy texture… always hug it when I walk by. Garba with Krishma and mom too. Reminisce: I ‘member when Nishchal, Prasheel and I used to go paint windows for Christmas and check out the moms when we were at Nishcals/Krishmas. Well moms still got it. Ahem.
Friday – Miss knowledge to start working on www.parasuniversal.com from 7pm.
Saturday – Happy Birthday Mathe! After lil sleep work more on www.parasuniversal.com till 7pm. Now I thought we were going for garba but plans changed to Palm Tree/Poussin/Rugby with the boys and Seju. I aint saying no today… perfect for Mathes birthday coz 1 – www.parasuniversal.com is launched, 2 – On her birthdays we’d always go for tikka or poussin. BTW Madhuri Dixit is making a come back… that’s what who the cheerleader girl from Heroes reminds me of!
Sunday – Missed knowledge again to do more www.parasuniversal.com lolll how d’ya like the marketing. Anyway catch up the 3ple whammy. Was so deep fell asleep on the second one. Finish up knowledge, finish up poussin. Get ready, get busses to Shorty’s. Noisy Somali kids… the lil girls in front singing some ‘thank you for water and life’ song. The boys in the back bullying them or doing their thang. Over to Shorty’s. Get a hot chocolate before going to the Hare Krishna temple to watch Ravan get burned. Dear Dumba55 Reminder: If you’re gonna have milk after poussin… MAKE SURE YOU’RE NEAR FACILITIES! Plus standing in the cold waiting for effigy to blaze does not help. Lets just say I left a different kinda aura in the Hare Krishna Mens room. Get to Sej’s. Garba time! Note: Dhingly. Oh man first time we ate at the Northolt garba place and the paneer was magical.
Monday – So I’m having a ciggy break and with the windows we have now that its darker outside folks can see inside. I thought why not take a peek at what Rasesh is up to. So I slowly look in and he can make out someone looking right. His expression was so funny… like say a thief or peeping Tom was looking in… instead he had the expression like he was the thief trying to make out who’s outside. Wish I had the camera. 2 Whole weeks since I last did Kriya and finally I get some of that good stuff. Lol when we started the main breathing bit… there’s like 3 sets in each round and there’s 7 rounds… I was out in the 1st round 2nd set. Needed that! Busses to Sags. Prince of Persia!
Tuesday – Neha once again killed with lunch/dinner. Oh man… food like that makes me wanna marry cousins! Hey, I’ve got the look already… that reminds me… since this new looks kicked in I’ve heard a few funny Muslim jokes or had funny experiences… Might share them. Oh yeah and we finished Prince of Persia!!!!
Wednesday – Crappy day. Not had brekkie or lunch or snacks. Miss Ria, Taz bring it up and migraine straight up lol. Dinner at nephs make it better. Nearly devoured the table… 8 chicken samosas, 4 chicken chapattis/paratha things, mug and 2 more chapattis. I ask younger neph what he’s been up to midterm… without a blink he’s like ‘PIMPING!’. Talk about how older neph has a long head coz they had to use a ‘pakar’ thing to pull him out. Def Jam on the PS… now the moms was asking what she should pack for my next day lunch, so I’s like ‘ummm’ and before I could decide… lil neph is like ‘mom just pack everything, don’t ask him, he’s shy, just pack it all’. Last day of Ashtavakra knowledge sessions. Funny bit was Guruji was talking about how to just be when there’s all these up and downs and todays the day the baby decides to make noise and cry. In my head I was like either take him to another room or get some duct tape! Just for 20 minutes ok. Anyway. Got some crazy hypnosis stuff. I think the meal mesmerised me enough.

Happy Birthday Mom

The falling leaves drift by my window, The falling leaves of red and gold,
I see your lips, the summer kisses, The sunburned hands I used to hold.

Since you went away the days grow long, And soon I’ll hear old winter’s song,
But I miss you most of all, my darling, When autumn leaves start to fall.
