– Go placidly amid the noise and haste and remember what peace there may be in silence.

– As far as possible be on good terms with all people. Speak the truth quietly and clearly and listen carefully to others, even the dull and ignorant, they too have a life story.

– Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. Never compare yourself to others, you may become either vain or bitter, for there will always be greater and lesser persons to you.

– Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble, it’s a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

– Exercise caution in your business affairs, as the world is full of trickery.

– Be true to yourself, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical or blinded by love, for in the face of aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass.

– Find somebody to love, love what you do and always be excited about your future. When you find love give nothing but love, yet demand none in return.

– Be a true friend, as being a friend is a gift you give to yourself.
