Nutshell: Guy was living happily until he got the diamond bug planted in his head. This made him unhappy and so he gave up everything to look for diamonds. He ends up in rags and commits suicide while the person who got his land found the diamonds.

So basically the diamonds are where you are, you just need to dig deeper around you and no go elsewhere to find your fortune. One part of the speech that really hit the nail on the head was when one person comes to a small town store asking for a certain product and the kid manning the dad’s shop couldn’t care less so he’s like we don’t have this product. Another person comes in asking for the same and again. So that should have been a hint to stock up that product in the store but kid didn’t care to know the customer or what was in demand.
