Singapore was amazing! I love their rules and discipline, the beautiful greenery and efforts they make towards sustainability (I did notice way more plastic bags than anywhere else I’ve been). We were blessed to be guests of Sushil and Purvie, who make us experience the whole place even better. Purvie definitely knows all her food. I’d need a separate post just for that.

19/1/24 – Santosh and Shruti pick us. Get to airport and couple fighting at the oversized section. Eat at Common Bar and Kitchen – great burgers. Last ones on flight. Taxi said he’s not a post man when I gave him a post code. Catch up with Sushil Purvie, whopper dinner, walk to the market and get a tour. Bad dream of someone falling off a building during a mass celebration.

20/1/24 – Fire station, Tej loses it as he was promised ice-cream.

Garden by the Bay, Macca’s chicken McMuffin. Sushil brings pram, Shake Shack awesome burger, Cloud forest, Flower dome, Kids water park, Marina Bay Shoppes, Science museum building walk around sky walk has a queue, walk more, building boat ride can’t book. Singapore swimming club, robot bob, chat till late. The Ais Kacang we had had something call gula melaka which was a sweet jelly like glob from palm sap.

21/1/24 – Edit, wake Sushil while ironing, bus to i12 Katong Mall, dim sum and catch up with Purv, home, chill, Marina Barrage, Sustainable Singapore gallery, Sushil joins after jog and we cycle back (MY FAVOURITE PART OF THE WHOLE TRIP). Paratha and fish dinner with rice mochi dessert.

22/1/24 – Trains to Vivo city, Bread Talk and Toast Box. Back and forth tickets for redeeming, Cable car Santosa then Sea aquarium, Chifa Chinese Peruvian (see my google review for deets), Trick eye, coconut ice-cream drink, trains back. Sushil back, Tham cleaner, food talk that goes over my head, editing vids, dinner with lots of jelly desserts, Tej says ‘oh fish’ sleep talking.

23/1/24 – Train to Bugis, Bhav gets her Chewey Junior, trains to China town, wait to eat in Chinatown Seafood The Yellow Chair Restaurant. Pass a Pagoda. Taxi back. Edit. Raffles station. Level 33 drink and amazing scenery, walk to Lau Pa Sat. Stuff ourselves so much I felt my organs move to make space.

24/1/24 – Bhavs bday, Purv gets her walnut and carrot cake, I give her the Chinese New year card fridge magnet and Chinese year tiger. Mandai wildlife reserve, river wonders, pandas, missed the boat as Tej too short, Mama Panda Kitchen crap food, flooded Amazon forest, finish river wonders and go to the Singapore zoo. Second ice-cream for Tej so we told him he can’t have one the next day and he agreed!!!! Home, chill, edit. Train to City Hall, Purv takes Bhav Natureland foot massage, Tej where is mamaing and crying as it all happened too fast and in public so not the best situation until I told him out to difference buildings for a walk. Some ladies were wondering why he was running away from me shouting for mama. Use internet to map to the massage place. We’re all sweating from imaginary ‘lets look for mama’ adventures. Link with Sushil, walking in buildings, top up nicotine replacement, including Esplanade durian buildings, finally get to Supply and Demand The Rooftop Bar, not bad food, horrendous service from Chara and Jackson (see my google maps review for more info), got the singer to dedicate bday song for Bhav. Train back, Tej was super happy and energetic in the buildings loves playing with Sushil and Purv. Purv got us a fantastic Pandan cake with some soft balls with some sweet syrup in it. Celebrate.

Singapore Zoo/Mandai & River Wonders (Giant Panda Zoo & Flooded Amazon Forest) Jan 24

25/1/24 – Train to Raffles City, Din Tai Fung dim sum with Tej not in the best mood, train back, my loves nap while I edit. Purv comes back, electricians do their thing, Tej wakes super crank, pack, iron, dried hot clothes, taxi to airport. Quantas had entertainment issues going and coming. Tej didn’t sleep and pissed us both off to levels never before seen, poor guy even missed home. Kuldeep gets in touch after 2 years.

26/1/24 – Taxi home and there was a bunch of people hanging outside neighbours at 1:30 am. House stinking of cat pee so stay awake to mop and wash curtains.

Extra notes: Finally find out the squash I grow is butternut squash. Reticulation is burst so will need to sort that at some point. Freezer wasn’t closed properly so things defrosted.
